Privacy: anonymous analytics, no cookies

This page lists exactly what this site and data05 itself do and do not do. Last updated 7 November 2026.

This website

  • It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, in local storage or in session storage.
  • It counts page views anonymously, so we can see which pages people read and how they found them. Nothing is kept between page loads, so no visitor is followed from page to page or from one visit to the next.
  • It has no advertising, no session recording and no tracking across other sites. It honours Do Not Track: if you have it turned on, nothing is counted.
  • It loads nothing from other domains. Fonts, images, styles and scripts all come from data05.dev.
  • It has no forms.

What the analytics record

We use PostHog (US cloud), the same account as use05.dev, the other 05 site. Its script is served from data05.dev, and what it records is sent to data05.dev, which passes it on to PostHog. For each page view it records the page, the page you came from, your browser and device type, your screen size, and an approximate location (country and city) that PostHog derives from your IP address. It also records a few clicks: buttons that lead to another page, and links to other sites. It never records what you type, and there is nothing on this site to type into.

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel may keep standard server logs, such as the IP address and the page requested, to run and secure the service.

If you block the analytics, the site works exactly the same.

data05 itself

data05 is designed to run inside your application or on your own server, against your own database. It will send no telemetry and needs no account. Your data, your metadata and your audit stay where you run them.
